Darren joined Regeneris as a Director in 2001 when the company was founded and has been Managing Director since 2015. He is an experienced economic development and regeneration consultant with a long track record in economic impact, policy research, evaluation and Green Book appraisal.
Darren specialises in assisting projects through the planning system and obtaining public funding, largely on the basis of economic need and impact. He works on large scale residential developments, leisure and retail schemes energy, infrastructure projects and strategic employment sites. He is also part of the Regeneris housing team, and regularly gives evidence at Examinations in Public (EiPs) and Public Inquiries on the subject of Objectively Assessed Housing Need.
A recent example of his work is the flagship Surf Snowdonia project in North Wales. Darren worked on this for 12 months, with his economic impact evidence proving crucial in securing planning consent and in convincing the Welsh Government to back the project financially.
Outside Regeneris, Darren enjoys exploring big cities, especially the hidden bits. He runs, does circuits, likes cooking and has an irrational thing going on with Derby County.
