A Deal for Ceramics

Regeneris has just finished working with the British Ceramics Confederation (BCC), helping develop a draft sector deal for the UK ceramics industry.

The Industrial Strategy Green Paper invited business leaders to come to government with proposals to transform their sectors through deals to deliver upgrades in productivity. Regeneris was appointed in late May to work with BCC, the local enterprise partnership, Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Staffordshire University and local businesses such as Lucideon, AMRICC, Royal Crown Derby, Steelite, Weinberger and Axia Solutions. The draft Deal was launched this week at a reception hosted by local MP Ruth Smeeth where Sir Keir Starmer spoke of the importance of manufacturing to UK economic growth.

Regeneris undertook wide ranging data analysis to map the size and location of the sector, assemble evidence on global market trends in the ceramic supply chains and undertook original survey work with businesses to understand their priorities and barriers to growth. We worked closely with local agencies to assemble an initial ask and a big idea which the sector will be negotiating with government over the coming months. Our detailed analysis and evidence has been submitted to BEIS officials and the summary overview published on the British Ceramics Confederation website here.

Regeneris undertake economic analysis across a wide range of sectors and would be very keen to understand how we can help other sectors build up a clearer case for government support.
