Aim:\u00a0<\/span> To perceive the affected limb in a more normal manner, to improve attention to, and acceptance of the limb. These treatments are mostly similar to those used for treating sensory or motor problems<\/p>

Encourage bilateral limb movements or functional activities (for example picking something up with both limbs simultaneously)<\/p>

Encourage limb activities that involve crossing the midline, for example picking something up on the opposite body side.<\/p>

Encourage bilateral weight bearing<\/p>

All of these activities can have an enhanced effect if the patient performs them in front of a normal mirror, so that they can fully see both their limbs involved.<\/p>

Caveat – Neglect can be sometimes so strong that you need to recognise that additional support from psychology is needed<\/p>
